Little Girl Gift Idea

I have been working on lots of little projects that have been on my list and finished one today! There's just something about crossing off a task on a to do list (I'm totally the kind of person who adds something to my list just so I can cross it off!).

I needed a birthday gift idea for a friend of my boys and remembered that she had a little play kitchen. I searched Pinterest (where else?!) for a DIY child's apron. I found this one at Quilt Fabric Delights Creative and this one at Tidbits. I wanted to incorporate some things from each tutorial in my apron. I also loved that Cami's at Tidbits had a link for a chef's hat tutorial!

Here's what I came up with! (Sorry about the grainy phone pictures!)
I decided to make this one reversible with pockets on both sides.
And I loved the chef's hat tutorial and that it could really fit any size kid.
I really liked how these turned out so I made two more for my nieces birthdays. I thought I took a picture of my youngest niece's apron, but I can't find it and I've already wrapped them....

I used my oldest as a model for the hat (don't mind Hightops the giraffe, he had just woken up).

I feel like I could make these in my sleep now! So I got to cross this off my list, but I have added making a really "manly" one for my son to go along with the felt food that's on my to do list! :)

Cowboy Party

My boys Cowboy Party has come and gone. It was such a great party filled with lots of family and friends!

I sewed orange and navy bandanas together to make a big backdrop for the Trail Mix Bar and Cupcake display. It also served as a backdrop while the boys had their cake and cupcake!

The Trail Mix Bar included Granola, Frosted Cheerios, Mini Marshmallows, M&Ms, Pretzels, Teddy Grahams, Banana Chips and Raisins. Along with paper cones for guests to mix their custom Trail Mix.

Cowboys and Cowgirls bags were for the 3 and up crowd
Wild West's Wanted were the adults who got Mini Apple Pies
Little Buckaroos bags were for the 1 year old crowd

I used aluminum pie tins for plates and it actually worked out great with all the little ones!
I have been saving aluminum cans and wrapped them in butcher paper. Then I made chalkboard labels and labeled them for the silverware.

Veggie Cups with Ranch and Fruit Kabobs with Dip

For drinks I repurposed jugs (Apple Cider from HEB)

We moved out furniture to make room for all the tables

I also had a photo booth to document everyone who shared the day with us. Here's me and hubby

Early Bird Shower

We hosted a baby shower for a dear friend who had her sweet baby girl 5 weeks early, hence the "Early Bird" theme. We were so excited to honor Jordan and little Charlee Kate in this way!

I also made these little birdie onesies for Charlee that we hung on a clothes line with some other goodies.

Now it's time to shift into Cowboy Party mode! Stay tuned for Luke and Parker's Western Bash.

Western Birthday Banner

I am gearing up for my boys' Western Birthday Bash in a few weeks. I still can't believe they will be THREE and ONE!

I'll be posting pieces of the party as I get them finished. Here's the birthday banner that will be behind the boys as they blow out their candles and eat cake.
